You've probably seen the various City Car Club cars around the city centre. Today, I found out what a great service they are.
I was in Bristol and needed to get to my mother in rural Devon to take her to a hospital appointment. Problem was , I didn't have my driving licence so couldn't hire a car.
I had also forgotten my city car club membership card, but I gave them a ring on the off chance. They were amazingly helpful, particularly given I'd rung their out of hours service and it was almost midnight. They told me that if I rang after 8 am the office could set up my Oyster card to unlock the car instead.
I rang at eight, and within five minutes I had a booking for a car ten minutes' walk away, and collected it with my Oyster card. Mum made her hospital appointment, and I am a very happy customer.
